29th Training Systems Squadron, Detachment 3

Mission

The 29th Training Systems Squadron has personnel located at Eglin AFB and 11 geographically separated units around the nation: Barksdale, Beale, Creech, Dyess, Hill, Offutt, Robins, Tinker, Tyndall, and Whiteman AFBs as well as an operating location in Mesa, Ariz. The squadron serves as the Combat Air Force's center of expertise for Aircrew Training Devices (ATD). Squadron personnel provide technical expertise on all aspects of ATD life-cycle management, including acquisition, modification, acceptance testing and certification testing for all A-10, B-1, B-2, B-52, E-3, E-4, E-8, EC-130, F-15C/E, F-16, F-22, F-35, HH-60, HC-130, MQ-1/9, RC-135, RQ-4 and U-2 ATDs.

 

340th Weapons Squadron, USAFWS B-52 Division

Mission

The U.S. Air Force Weapons School trains tactical experts and leaders to control and exploit air, space and cyber on behalf of the joint force. Every six months, the Weapons School graduates approximately 150 Weapons Officers and enlisted tacticians who are system experts, Weapons Instructors, Advanced Instructors, and leaders of Airmen.

Deliver a realistic, multi-domain training environment at GFE/JRTC in order to challenge and develop Battlefield Airmen and aircrew for airpower integration into joint operations across the spectrum of conflict.

AFOSI Detachment 812

Mission

AFOSI Detachment 812 provides federal law enforcement and special investigative services for the 2nd Bomb Wing, 307th Air Reserve Wing, 8th Air Force and Air Force Global Strike Command customers on Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, with an area of responsibility covering 81 Parishes and Counties in Western Louisiana and Eastern Texas.

26th Operational Weather Squadron

Mission

The 26th Operational Weather Squadron is responsible for producing timely, accurate, and uninterrupted terrestrial and electromagnetic forecasts and planning tools for the Air Force, Space Force, Army, Guard, Reserve, and combatant command forces.  They employ force multiplying Airmen to exploit environmental conditions that enable decision advantage for commanders throughout the Southeastern United States and in support of the USAFRICOM theater and USSTRATCOM missions. 26 OWS Airmen are trained and equipped to provide both airfield and air and space operations center weather services by infusing critical thinking with thorough environmental impact knowledge, maximizing Combatant Commanders ability to counter transnational and near-peer threats and respond to crisis. Additionally, the 26 OWS is the lead meteorological production unit for Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean hurricanes; ready to provide rapid response forecasts for any humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts when activated by USNORTHCOM.

608 Air Communications Squadron

Mission

Plan, direct, command, control, monitor and assess long-range strike missions to deliver operational and strategic effects for U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) and theatre geographic combatant commands.
