Staff Sgt. Cedric Keith, 2nd Medical Support Squadron chemistry technician was selected to be a part of the 2015 Air Force Rugby Team January 2015.

Although sports have always been a part of Keith's life, rugby was something that started while Keith was stationed in Korea.

Keith said he's always been into sports but didn't start playing rugby until a team in Korea invited him to practice with them. He has been hooked on rugby ever since, and after some time playing in Korea he decided to submit his package for a spot on the Air Force Rugby Team. Keith was sent to Las Vegas for tryouts and was excited that he got selected to be a part of the team.

Keith's coworkers are excited for his opportunity; however, they admit it's difficult to lose him.

"It's an awesome opportunity for him," said Tech. Sgt. Terrence Raybon, 2nd MSS Laboratory flight chief. "It's tough to lose him. He is our lead chemistry technician and is the heartbeat of the team here, but we are all happy for him."

Keith values both working and being a part of a productive team in rugby.

"I like the teamwork aspect of the game," Keith said. "I have played a lot of sports and I have never seen teams band together like they do in rugby. The team is like a brotherhood."

Keith's next tournament with the team will take place June 21 in Denver and he will continue to play with the team for the next year.

As Keith transitions from a chemistry technician to rugby player, he will remain an example of why 2nd Bomb Wing Airmen are truly second to none.
