49th TES gets new commander Published June 27, 2008 By Airman Allison Boehm 2d Bomb Wing Public Affairs BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- Lt. Col. Lane Humphreys took command of the 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron here June 13. Colonel Humphreys succeeded Lt. Col. Kelly A. Lawson, after a formal ceremony in Hanger One. Lt. Col. Humphreys had previously served as director of operations for the 49th TES. He has also served as chief, Aircraft Strike Branch, Strike Planning Division in the Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike and Integration, Offutt AFB, NE; executive officer to the commander in the 2d Bomb Wing Operations Group; flight commander of 2d Operations Support Squadron; a B-52H instructor radar navigator, evaluator radar navigator, and student flight commander at the 11th Bomb Squadron and a B-52H radar navigator, instructor radar navigator and evaluator of the 96th BS. Colonel Humphreys is an Air Force Academy graduate and received a Masters of Art in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University. Colonel Humphreys was also a distinguished graduate from the Masters of Military Operational Art and Science program from Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB, Ala. Colonel Humphrey's decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal, an Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters, an Aerial Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, an Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and an Air Force Achievement Medal. Colonel Lawson will be studying terrorism while he spends a year at Massachusetts Institute of Technology as an Air Force Fellow.
