Colonel Erick D. Lord

Colonel Erick D. Lord is the Deputy Commander, 2d Bomb Wing, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. He assists the Commander in providing for the health and welfare of more than 11,400 military and civilian personnel, 6,300 family members, and 25,000 retirees. He also shares the responsibility for ensuring the 2d Bomb Wing maintains a constant state of readiness to provide flexible and responsive combat capability in support of United States Strategic Command and theater combatant commanders.

Colonel Lord received his commission from the United States Air Force Officer Training School as a Distinguished Graduate in 2003. He first served in various B-1 flying positions, and last commanded the 9th Bomb Squadron, 7th Bomb Wing, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. His staff experience includes operations and programming positions within the Headquarters Air Force, the Joint Staff, and a fellowship with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Colonel Lord is a Master Navigator with over 2,600 hours, including combat over Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM,
FREEDOM'S SENTINEL, and INHERENT RESOLVE.


Before his current assignment, Colonel Lord was the Chief, Operations, Training, and Standards Division, Deputy Directorate for Nuclear and Homeland Defense Operations, Joint Staff J-3, Washington, District of Columbia.
