There was a false alarm on a possible active shooter event on Barksdale Air Force Base Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.

Someone on base saw an individual with a weapon and did the right thing by reporting it to security forces. The base initiated lock down procedures until security forces positively identified the individual and determined the situation was a false alarm and lifted the lockdown.

The report, the declaration of lock down and the security forces response demonstrates that Team Barksdale takes base security seriously and will protect our mission, Airmen and families.
