A Barksdale Airman was pronounced deceased by Bossier City firefighters at approximately 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.


The Airman succumbed to injuries sustained after being shot near his residence in Bossier City, LA according to the Bossier City Public Information Officer Traci Landry.


“The loss of an Airman in such a tragic event is a devastating blow to our team,” said Col. Michael Miller, 2nd Bomb Wing commander. “We ask that you keep this Airman’s family and friends in your thoughts as we work through this extremely difficult time.”


The Airman’s name will be withheld until 24 hours after next-of-kin notification per Department of Defense instruction. No further information is releasable at this time. 2nd Bomb Wing Public Affairs will put out additional information after 24 hours post next-of-kin notification.
