BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- Staff Sgt. Kelsey Taber Reed, a Barksdale Airman, was pronounced deceased by medical officials at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas at 7:25 p.m., April 12.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own. The tragic loss of an Airman takes a heavy toll on the men and women of our wing,” said Col. Ty Neuman, 2nd Bomb Wing commander. “Our hearts go out to Staff Sgt. Reed’s family and friends in this difficult time.”
Reed, a Family Health Medical Journeyman assigned to the 2nd Medical Operation Squadron, succumbed to injuries sustained in an all-terrain vehicle accident.
"Staff Sgt. Kelsey Reed was an outstanding Non-Commissioned Officer and medical technician and she will be greatly missed," said 2nd Medical Operations Squadron Commander Lt. Col. David Walmsley, her squadron commander.
Reed’s entered the U.S. Air Force July 17, 2012. She was 23 years old.
