Residency program provides Airmen dental implant options
Capt. Matthew Sherwood, 2nd Dental Squadron dental resident, uses a cast dental impression to demonstrate how a prosthetic tooth will replace the right mandibular second molar and align with the other teeth of the lower jaw at the Barksdale Dental Clinic, April 4, 2019. The procedure consisted of a surgically implanted metal post in the jaw, an abutment which serves as an extension of the post and a prosthetic tooth, which attaches to the abutment piece.
