Barksdale welcomes Marines’ Lone Star Battalion for training

M16 rifles are stacked together during a training exercise at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., March 18, 2016. The M16 is the primary rifle used by The U.S. Marine Corps during basic training. Recruits must complete a fire course consisting of shooting targets that are 200, 300 and 500 yards away from the prone, sitting, kneeling and standing positions. Additionally, the Marine Corps is the only branch that has recruits shooting from distances as far as 500 yards away. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Mozer O. Da Cunha)
