Fueling the Fire: Controlled burn strengthens local eco system
Excess brush burns during a controlled fire at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Feb. 4, 2016. The 2nd Civil Engineer Squadron project reduced excess vegetation which increased the temperature of the soil, expediting blossoming of spring foliage, and provided local wildlife with renewed sources of nourishment.
