Innovation Spotlight: AGE Flight
The 2nd Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment flight implemented an oil safe lubrication work center system, which reduced the number of personnel and man-hours needed to service equipment. The new system houses eight self-contained 65-gallon tanks, which are easily accessed using pressurized dispensing taps, enabling maintainers a quick and efficient way to service equipment. The former two-man operation now requires only one with the new system and the 40-minute transfer is now down to 10 minutes. Furthermore, the new system has eliminated approximately 100 man-hours last month and has saved the unit $8,000 in annual waste. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. Marie Brown)
