Exercise Eager Lion 2015

The engines on a B-52H Stratofortress are started in preparation for an aircraft launch in support of Exercise Eager Lion 2015 mission at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., May 17, 2015. One of U.S. Central Command's premier exercises, two B-52s from the 2nd Bomb Wing took off on a 35-hour, 14,000-mile nonstop mission from Barksdale May 17 to support the event. Exercise Eager Lion consists of a series of simulated scenarios to facilitate a coordinated, partnered military response to both conventional and unconventional threats. While U.S. participation in Exercise Eager Lion occurs on a regular basis, this year marks the first time the B-52 is integrated into the exercise.
