A memorial service for Senior Airman Eli Cook, 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, was held at the Weapons Load Training Facility on Barksdale Air Force Base, Jan. 8, 2015. Cook, a B-52H Stratofortress assistant dedicated crew chief, succumbed to injuries sustained in a vehicular accident that occurred Jan. 2 in Shreveport, La., Airman Cook entered the Air Force in January 2013, and was assigned to Barksdale's 2nd Bomb Wing upon completion of technical training in July 2013. Once here, he directly supported the 2nd AMXS's 11th Aircraft Maintenance Unit and was known as a leader among his peers, according to Lt. Col. Michael Hammack, 2nd AMXS commander.
