Aircraft surgeons repair and replace B-52 skin and bones
Rivets and bucking bars wait to be used on a B-52H Stratofortress spoiler at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Nov. 13, 2014. Airmen from the 2nd Maintenance Squadron aircraft structural maintenance shop repair or replace sheet metal and fix loose rivets and cracks on the B-52H Stratofortress. Repairing sheet metal locally saves repair times and costs, which allows the B-52 to complete its mission providing decisive nuclear deterrence and conventional firepower to combatant commanders for global strike operations.
