Airman Jennifer Coffin 2d Contracting Squadron Contract Specialist HOMETOWN: Billings, Mont. WHY DID YOU JOIN THE MILITARY? I joined the military to challenge myself. Serving my nation affords me the opportunity to find out who I am, what I want to do in life, and the kind of person I want to become. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE MILITARY? I’ve been in the military for 1 year. WHO IS THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON IN THE MILITARY AND WHY? To me, the most influential person in the military is Major Nicole Malachowski. She is the first woman pilot selected to fly as part of the Thunderbirds. I find her achievements inspiring and they push me to set goals that are equally momentous. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO IN THE LOCAL AREA? My favorite thing to do in the local area is participate in squadron intramural sports. I enjoy the camaraderie and morale that’s associated with coming together as a team with the people I work with. WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB? What I like most about my job is the interaction I have with people. In contracting, we communicate with people throughout the entire day and I enjoy that aspect of my job.
