Turning tragedy into opportunity

Staff Sgt. David Flowers proudly wears his medals after a ceremony at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Air Force Chief of Staff Norton Schwartz presented Sergeant Flowers with a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and a second Combat Action Medal June 23 for his actions and selfless service while deployed to Afghanistan.
