Miniature Air-Launched Decoy
Barksdale AFB, La. – Members of the 917th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron latch the Miniature Air-Launched Decoy into place on the B-52H Nov. 19 as members from Eglin AFB observe. An internal navigation system with GPS support keeps the MALD on course. Although pre-programmed before the aircraft leaves the ground, the course can be modified by the pilot at any point up to launch. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Alexandra M.
