B-17 restoration
BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. – This B-17G static display sits at the Eighth Air Force Museum, which honors Maj. Gen. Lewis E. Lyle and the contributions he made. Barksdale Airmen, volunteers and contractors are in the process of restoring the B-17 and painting it to resemble one that was flown by General Lyle on a bombing mission during World War II.
