'Miss Liberty'

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- This B-17G bomber at the Eighth Air Force museum is receiving a paint job in honor of Maj. Gen. Lewis E. Lyle, who flew many missions during World War II in B-17s. Ron Fountain, Houston’s Southwest Museum Services development director, traveled here to paint the nose of the B-17 to mirror one that was flown by General Lyle. The name of the B-17G is "Miss Liberty." (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. John Gordinier)
