Intercept practice
Canadian F-18 Hornets perform practice intercept with Barksdale’s B-52s during Exercise Amalgam Falcon Dart 11-1 recently. Amalgam Dart exercises are North American Aerospace Defense Command sponsored, region-directed, field-training exercises that take place in the Canadian, United States and Alaskan NORAD regions. “During this exercise, 96th Bomb Squadron B-52's simulated a Long-Range Strike platform,” said Maj. Patrick Merriman, 2nd Operations Support Squadron lead planner. “Various fighter units along the East coast were scrambled to intercept the B-52s and escort them along their route of flight.” (courtesy photo)
