Barksdale Arbor Day Celebration
Col. Tim Fay, 2nd Bomb Wing commander and Kaden Taylor, 4, son of Tech. Sgt. Gerald Taylor, 2nd Communications Squadron NCO in charge of boundry protection, plant a Leyland Cypress tree in front of Chapel 1 on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Nov. 17. Each year, a day is set aside in recognition of Arbor Day, an observance that encourages tree planting, care and preservation. The celebration, along with other requirements, qualifies BAFB to receive the Tree City USA Award. More than 15 children and staff members of the child development center came out for the celebration. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman La'Shanette V. Garrett)(RELEASED)
