New guidelines change CPR procedures

In compliance with scientific changes found in 2010, the new American Heart Association guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation went into effect April 1. The most significant change trainees might notice is a change in the basic life support sequence of steps for trained rescuers from “A-B-C” (Airway, Breathing, Chest compressions) to “C-A-B” (Chest compressions, Airway, Breathing).
