Combat Hammer phase 2
Airmen 1st Class Robert Knife and Jeremy Locke, 96th Bomb Squadron crew chiefs, prepare a B-52H Stratofortress for take-off in support of exercise Combat Hammer on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Aug. 13. The exercise evaluates the employment of precision-guided munitions, assesses combat capabilities and improves PGM performance. The munitions will be flown to a test range in Utah where they will be dropped. The 2nd Bomb Wing will be launching eight B-52H Stratofortress Bombers during phase two of the exercise.
