B-52 a Golden Legacy

The sun rises over a B-52H Stratofortress on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Aug. 22. The B-52 was one of many aircraft featured during Air Force week due to its long history of service, and the Air Force named 2012 the year of the B-52. The B-52 has served in every conflict since the Vietnam War. During Desert Storm, the aircraft delivered 40 percent of all the weapons dropped by coalition forces. The heavy bomber is capable of dropping or launching the widest array of weapons in the U.S. inventory. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Micaiah Anthony)(RELEASED)
