Firefighters ready to save lives

Airmen 1st Class Juan Rosario and Xazier Bailey, 2nd Civil Engineer Squadron firefighters, don their fire proximity suits on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Jan. 23. The fire proximity suit is used specifically for aircraft fires and protects the firefighter from thermal radiation. Firefighters who deal with aircraft fires wear fire proximity suits to protect themselves from temperatures that can reach up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
