Airfield management vital to flightline operations

Airman 1st Class Andrew Henggeler, 2nd Operations Support Squadron airfield management, inserts a 12-gauge bullet into a pyrotechnics pistol on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Feb. 13. The 12-gauge pistol launches a projectile that creates a small explosion near its desired target causing minimal collateral damage. The pistol is a non-lethal option for airfield managers to use when scaring birds away from the flightline. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Benjamin Gonsier)
