Barksdale bids farewell to A-10s
The final three A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft conduct final checks before take off on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., June 24, 2013. Specifically designed for close air support, its combination of large and varied ordnance load, long loiter time, accurate weapons delivery, austere field capability, and survivability has proven invaluable to the United States and its allies.The A-10s departed after more than 3 decades on Barksdale.
