The 2nd Bomb Wing recently welcomed back Chaplain (Capt.) Jeremy Caudill to the team.

Caudill, from Bossier City, La., was a reserve chaplain for the past seven years but, recently, became active in June 2013 when he was given orders back here.

"I became active because I love the ministry and serving Airmen," said Caudill. "I get to invest in the lives of others; it is personally fulfilling for me to see what God can do."

Before Caudill became active, he was already preaching at some of the services held at Chapel 2.

"I've spent many hours holding counseling sessions, speaking with commanders, preparing for Protestant worship services and visiting with Airmen in the workplace," he said.

This past weekend, Caudill even spent time mentoring some of Barksdale's couples at the chapel's Marriage Care Retreat.

"The three-day marriage retreat was designed to revitalize strained military marriages and build marital resiliency," he said.

The retreat was designed by Air Force Chaplains who have completed professional and continuing education at the Air Force Institute of Technology in marriage and family ministry.

Primarily, Caudill is the 2nd Mission Support Group chaplain and works with all of the units comprised in the group. However, as he is also the main Protestant Parish Chaplain, he has a message for all Airmen.

"Get involved and use your senses," he said. "If you notice someone is hurting or know someone is going through struggles, get beside them and be a friend. It does not take an expert to save a life, it just takes concern. Ask the question, save a life."

He plans to build onto the same platform for counseling and worship services that many of the chaplains before him had in saying, "we are holding steady."

"Love your neighbor as yourself comes to mind," he said. "Also, don't be afraid to come and talk to the chaplains, we are really nice people."
