Beginning Oct. 1, 2013 the Red River Dining Facility will close until the renovation is complete, which is scheduled for early summer 2014.

Airmen living in the dormitories here will begin drawing Basic Allowance for Subsistence and will be responsible for their own meals while the Red River Dining Facility is under renovation.

During the closure, Touch-N-Go Flight Kitchen and Barksdale Lanes will be open seven days a week, said Master Sgt. Daniel Absolom, Red River Dining Facility food operations section chief.

Airmen will not begin drawing BAS until the second pay period of October, and since dining facility services will be on hold, they are encouraged to save money.

"Airmen need to be saving their money as soon as possible, so they'll have the money to pay for meals until their BAS begins," said Absolom. "Dinner on Sept. 30 is going to be the last meal."
