Colorful booths and new innovations brought Airmen together at the third annual Technology Expo Feb. 27, 2013.

The Technology Expo showcased the latest hardware and tools available on the market for anyone with base access and gave Airmen a chance to learn about new ways they may be able to more efficiently accomplish the mission.

"The expo is something we bring into the base to allow the various organizations to see what kind of new and current technology that vendors are bringing out," said Master Sgt. Joshua Copeland, 2nd Communications Squadron quality assurance section chief.

Airmen who visited the expo had a variety of reasons for attending. 2nd Lt. Joseph Lyons, a pilot from the 11th Bomb Squadron, received a scholarship from one company at the expo.

"I went on a trip for a scholarship opportunity and when I saw the [company] had a table here at the expo, I figured I'd come and say thanks to them," he said. "I also try to stay up to speed on what's current in the technology world."

Airmen may also find products their squadron or flight can use to better perform operations and possibly save the Air Force money in the long-term.

"I'm here mostly out of curiosity, but I might find something I need for our shop," said Senior Airman Zachary Buhrer, 307th Civil Engineer Squadron knowledge operations manager.

The Technology Expo offered many product demonstrations and has potential to drive the Mighty Deuce to success.

"Expos like this help us accomplish the bomb wing mission because it allows us to look at new and different technologies that we might not be aware of or are researching on our own," Copeland said. "We can go back to our units talk to our leadership, take that technology, and leverage it to accomplish our mission better, faster and more efficiently."
