Wing poster to be revamped Published March 25, 2015 By Senior Airman Joseph Raatz 2nd Bomb Wing Public Affairs BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- The 2nd Bomb Wing is calling on creative Airmen to redesign its wing poster. The wing poster is a source of pride for Barksdale's Airmen that represents its people and mission. "The 2nd Bomb Wing is a historic combat unit with proud Airmen performing a strategic mission. We are just as relevant in 2015 as the day our wing was established," said Chief Master Sgt. Tommy Mazzone, 2nd BW command chief. "We have many ways to capture the pride of our Airmen and our mission; stories, photos and videos are only some...our wing poster is another." The current poster was designed in 2011. The new design is expected to be modern and "edgy," forgoing traditional rectangular photos, clunky fonts and drab color schemes to create something that will make people stop and stare. "This is a highly visible product that will hang in nearly every building," Mazzone said. Submissions must include: · 2nd Bomb Wing's mission statement: We provide decisive nuclear deterrence and conventional firepower to combatant commanders for global strike operations...anytime, anywhere! · The Commander's priorities: People, Mission, Pride · The 2nd BW Emblem The person or team with the best design will earn a three-day pass and a coin from the wing commander. Civilian Airmen will earn a letter of appreciation and a commander's coin. "Your product will proudly represent your fellow Airmen and our amazing mission," Mazzone said. "We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with!" You can submit a digital version of your design to 2bw.ccc@us.af.mil. The deadline for all submissions is April 10, by 2 p.m.
