With a variety of Air Force jobs from doctors and lawyers to chefs and accountants, not all Airmen have the opportunity to interact directly with the mighty B-52 Stratofortress or the Airmen supporting the mission on the flightline.

Warrior Huddle Day grants the opportunity to learn first-hand from flightline Airmen what it takes to keep Barksdale's B-52s in the fight.

Warrior Huddle Day is a monthly event held at Hoban Hall on the second Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. open to all Department of Defense ID card holders and their guests.

"An event like this shows the flightline side of the Air Force to those who might not be familiar with it," said Staff Sgt. Justen Laganse, 2nd Maintenance Squadron phase crew chief journeyman. "A lot of people just see the flightline when they drive by it, but with this opportunity they actually have the chance see up close what makes us such a powerful Air Force."

The event also gives people a chance to talk to each other, expanding their knowledge of how the mission is accomplished as a team.

"This is a great opportunity for Airmen to broaden their understanding of what we do," said 2nd Lt. Donald Dancer, 2nd Maintenance Squadron flight commander. "Someone who works in the medical field may hear the jets take off all the time but might not know what it takes to get those jets in the air. Flightline Airmen can also learn more about how other sections on base support the mission and how it all connects."

A highlight of the event is the opportunity to see the inside of the B-52.

"It's a great opportunity to actually go inside the B-52 and see what makes it such an incredible aircraft," Dancer said.

The Warrior Huddle aims to unite Airmen through knowledge providing them with an avenue to learn from each other, develop a better understanding of how different Air Force Specialty Codes operate and promote pride for the mission by learning how they are all connected in getting Barksdale's jets in the air.
