Good order and discipline at Barksdale Published June 4, 2010 By Staff Judge Advocate 2d Bomb Wing BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- A lower-level adverse action is nonjudicial punishment pursuant to Article 15, Uniform Code of Military Justice. A commander can impose nonjudicial punishment of correctional custody, forfeiture of pay, reduction in grade, extra duties, reprimand and restriction. Certain punishments may also be suspended up to six months. If the member commits any subsequent misconduct during a period of suspension, the suspended punishment may be vacated and implemented. The following Airmen received nonjudicial punishment in May 2010: Nonjudicial Punishment 2d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron A staff sergeant received nonjudicial punishment for violation of Article 134, drunk and disorderly conduct. Punishment imposed consisted of forfeiture of $70 pay for two months and 30 days extra duty. A staff sergeant received nonjudicial punishment for violation of three specifications of Article 86, failure to go and two specifications of Article 92, dereliction of duty. Punishment imposed consisted of suspended forfeiture of $150 pay for two months and 30 days extra duty. 2d Force Support Squadron An airman first class received nonjudicial punishment for violation of Article 121, Larceny. Punishment imposed consisted of suspended reduction to the grade of airman, forfeiture of $150 pay for two months and 30 days extra duty. 2d Logistics Readiness Squadron An airman first class received nonjudicial punishment for violation of Article 92, dereliction of duty. Punishment imposed consisted of reduction to the grade of airman and 21 days extra duty. An airman first class received nonjudicial punishment for violation of Article 92, dereliction of duty. Punishment imposed consisted of reduction to the grade of airman and 30 days extra duty. An airman received nonjudicial punishment for violation of Article 92, dereliction of duty. Punishment imposed consisted of reduction to the grade of airman basic and 21 days extra duty. 2d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron A senior airman received nonjudicial punishment for violation of Article 112a, wrongful use of marijuana. Punishment imposed consisted of reduction to the grade of airman basic. Additionally, the member is currently being processed for discharge for drug use. 2d Security Forces Squadron An airman first class received nonjudicial punishment for violation of Article 134, drunk and disorderly and Article 92, dereliction of duty. Punishment imposed consisted of suspended reduction to the grade of airman, forfeiture of $415 pay per month for two months and a reprimand. 2d Maintenance Operations Squadron A staff sergeant received nonjudicial punishment for violation of two specifications of Article 134, unlawful entry and Article 121, larceny of non-military property valued at $500 or less. Punishment imposed consisted of suspended reduction to the grade of senior airman, forfeiture of $1,146 pay for two months and 15 days extra duty. 2d Operations Support Squadron An airman first class received nonjudicial punishment for violation of Article 112a, wrongful use of marijuana. Punishment imposed consisted of reduction to the grade of airman basic, suspended forfeiture of $723 pay per month for two months and a reprimand. Additionally, the member is currently being processed for discharge for drug use.
