Col. Brandon Parker, 2nd BW vice commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Reiko, 2nd BW acting command chief, sat down and chatted with Airmen to build upon the direct line of communication between leadership and junior enlisted members. “Each month we’ll meet Airmen on base and just discuss what you want to talk about,” said Parker. The group discussed Barksdale-specific topics to include ways to best use the money earned from the Air Force Installation Excellence Award, potential quality of life projects and gate hours. “It’s always nice to see leadership come down to talk to us and give their perspective on things,” said Senior Airman James Sheehy, 2nd Operational Support Squadron airfield systems technician. Leadership plans to continue fostering open communication with Airmen in a variety of different forums to keep a direct channel from the top to the bottom and vice versa.
