With financial readiness a major part of everyone's military career, Barksdale warfighters must rely on dedicated financial experts.

The 2nd Comptroller Squadron's Financial Management flight is here to help resolve any issue Airmen have regarding Leave and Earnings statements, inprocessing and more.

"We have two missions," said Staff Sgt. Felicia Logsdon, 2CPTS FMF NCO-in-charge of Quality Examination. "We assist 2nd Bomb Wing leadership on wing finances and provide customer service to all Barksdale warfighters."

With these missions, the FMF performs many duties for Airmen, from processing military pay transactions, travel vouchers, inprocessing Airmen joining Team Barksdale and updating financial records for Airmen and their dependents are just a few ways the FMF helps keep Barksdale Airmen financially ready for duty.

According to Air Force Instruction 36-2906, "Personal Financial Responsibility," personal financial responsibilities are left to Airmen, who should maintain vigilance and control over their own finances so they can maintain ability to deploy. This is important since financial delinquency can lead to bad credit, relationship issues stress, and more can result.

The FMF knows that finances can be a stressor for Airmen and offers advice to assert struggling Airmen gain control over their financial situation.

"For financial help, start with your supervisor," she said. "You'd be surprised how much they can help. The First Sergeant is also a good resource for help and Airman and Family Readiness Center has programs like budgeting classes to help Airmen."

Effective personal finance is important to maintaining a financially healthy lifestyle and is mandatory for Airmen. The FMF stands ready to help Airmen to accomplish the Barksdale mission by keeping them financially ready to fly, fight and win.

"If your finances aren't in order Airmen won't be mentally prepared to do their job or deploy, so we make sure we provide services Airmen need so they can focus on their mission," Logsdon said.
