New Prescriptions
All electronic prescriptions must be activated prior to arriving at the pharmacy. This can be accomplished by one of the following methods:

  1. Online at https://app.tolsecuremessaging.com/ (Preferred method)
    1. Register your patient account and sign-in to Tricare Online Secure Messaging
    2. Click on the “Providers” Tab and use the search box to find and select “Barksdale AFB Pharmacy Provider” 
    3. Once selected, a request will be sent for approval (estimated time for approval is 1 business day)
    4. After receipt of an approval message, you can compose and send a message to the Barksdale Pharmacy at any time to activate or inquire on the status of your prescription. **Due to patient privacy laws, each patient must create their own secure messaging account when requesting access to the pharmacy inbox. The exception to this is for parents requesting on behalf of dependents under the age of 18 years old. **If you already had a TRICARE Online Secure Messaging account at a previous MTF, you do not need to create a new account. Just add “Barksdale AFB Pharmacy Provider” as a new provider.
  2. Use the kiosk to activate your electronic prescriptions at the kiosk in the BX Food Court for pick up at a later time. 
  3. Drop Boxes: Use any of the 3 drop boxes for your hard copy prescriptions. Be sure to fill out an “activation form” for faxed or electronically sent prescriptions. Drop box medications will be ready for pick up the next duty day.

      3. Corner of the BX in the pharmacy drive-thru parking lot (Located off of Curtiss Road)
  4. Phone: Activate by calling the pharmacy directly. Please note the possibility of extended wait times due to high call volume.

Prescription Refills
Refills are available through a phone-in refill system and should be picked up at the drive-through windows at the satellite pharmacy.  Listen to the automated message for changes in hours of operation and other important pharmacy information. There is a 72-hour turn around for refills excluding weekends, holidays and down days.

Medications available at the 2d Med Group are based upon the Department of Defense formulary.
