Free dental assistant training program offered

The 2d Dental Squadron is accepting applications for the Red Cross Dental Assistant Program.

Family members of active-duty and retired military members may apply.

Applications are available at the Barksdale Dental Clinic and will be accepted until March 5. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or G.E.D, and commit to six months of training. Interviews will be held Feb. 28 and 29, and March 4 and 5 from 7:30am - 3:30 pm.

The six-month assistant program includes dental anatomy, dental materials, fourhanded dentistry and radiographic technique training. Graduating students will receive a certificate of training from the Air Force as well as a Red Cross Volunteer certificate.

The next classes are held from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning March 10 at the base dental clinic.
