A Barksdale Airman was acknowledged by base leadership after he displayed true integrity.

Senior Airman Michael Singleton, 2d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, found a wallet containing more than $500 and credit cards, and quickly returned the item to its owner, Col. (ret) Horace Corley.

Airman Singleton came across the wallet while he was walking to work.

"I looked in the wallet for identification and found that he only had credit cards and a large amount of money in the wallet," Airman Singleton said. "I took the name off the credit card and contacted the base hotel to see if he was still an occupant. After they found out why I was looking for him, they connected me to his room."

"He informed me that he had found my wallet in the parking lot of Harmon Hall," Colonel Corley said. "He delivered the wallet to me with the contents intact."

Colonel Corley was very happy to receive Airman Singleton's phone call. He said he was happy to see that none of the Air Force Core Values have changed.

"I didn't see how it could have benefited me," Airman Singleton said. "No amount of money is worth my character and integrity."

"You couldn't find a better example of Air Force core values," said Col. Robert Wheeler, 2d Bomb Wing commander. "Airman Singleton's honesty is greatly appreciated and is another reason the Mighty Deuce remains 'Second to None!'"
