December is Drunk Driving Awareness Month

December is Drunk Driving Awareness Month.

2-3 times more people die in alcohol-related crashes during the holidays than throughout the rest of the year.

It takes 20-30 minutes for one standard drink to enter your bloodstream.

It takes approximately 1.5-2 hours to metabolize each standard drink you consume.

To be on the safe side, figure that it takes 2 hours for your body to get rid of each standard drink you consume!

A standard drink is the amount of alcohol contained in 12 fl oz of regular beer, 8-9 fl oz of malt liquor, 5 fl oz of table wine or 1.5 fl oz of 80-proof spirits.
