  • COVID-19 Installation Policy Guidance – Change 9.1

    Public safety remains of the utmost importance at Barksdale Air Force Base (BAFB). This memorandum supplements reference (a), which renewed BAFB’s Public Health Emergency (PHE) declaration until 19 January 2021 or until I determine public health data indicates the risk for sustained community transmission is mitigated, whichever may occur first. In accordance with references (a) and (b), I have made the risk decision, in coordination with my Public Health Emergency Officer, to maintain BAFB’s Health Protection Condition level at BRAVO+.

  • Renewal of Declaration of Public Health Emergency – COVID-19

    On 17 March 2020, in response to the rapid spread of COVID-19 and based on a preliminary investigation and the recommendations from our Public Health Emergency Officer (PHEO), my predecessor declared a public health emergency (PHE) in accordance with reference (a). That declaration has continuously been reviewed and renewed, and it is set to expire on 22 October 2020. Further investigation and recommendations from my PHEO indicate the need to renew the Declaration of a PHE for an additional 90 days. As such, I am renewing the Declaration of PHE until 19 January 2021, at which time it will automatically terminate unless it is renewed and re-reported, or terminated sooner by myself or a senior commander in the chain of command.
