Fuels lab ensures clean, reliable fuel
Staff Sgt. Jason Flowers, 2nd Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels laboratory technician, looks through a refractometer to measure the amount of icing inhibitor that is inside the fuel sample on Barksdale Air Force Base, La., June 18, 2014. Water inside the fuel will freeze at high altitudes inside the B-52H Stratofortress fuel systems, to avoid this, an icing inhibitor is placed inside the fuel. Flowers was ensuring the correct amount of the inhibitor was inside the fuel he was testing. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Benjamin Gonsier)
