Lifeguard Training

BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- Head lifeguard Valerie Jacob, 2d Force Support Squadron, instructs fellow lifeguards on CPR procedures. The lifeguards on Barksdale support two pools ensuring the safety of patrons. Traditionally Barksdale's lifeguard positions were filled by local area college and high school students but this year there are two active-duty Airmen training and serving with their civilian counterparts. The need for active-duty lifeguards has increased because several forward deployed locations have pools, Jun. 11, 2008. (U.S. Air Force photo by TSgt Laura K. Smith) (released)
