Barksdale's B-52s fly into the future
BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. -- Airman 1st Class Brandon Clark, 2d Maintenance Squadron aircraft structural maintenance technician removes the Air Combat Command shield from the tail of a B-52H Stratofortress to reveal a new Air Force Global Strike Command shield following the wing transition. Switching shields can take up to two hours to accomplish, and the temperature of the aircraft must be higher than 45 degrees for the shield to adhere properly.
