Colonel Scott Hoover is the commander of the 2nd Mission Support Group, 2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale Air Force Base, La. He commands more than 1,800 Airmen and provides mission support to B-52 and A-10 aircraft, and over 9,000 base and 35,000 retired customers. Previously, he was the Major Command Civil Engineer and A4/7 Civil Engineer Operations Division Chief at Air Force Global Strike Command. In that position, he built and executed the $100 million AFGSC bed-down plan while simultaneously standing up the MAJCOM Civil Engineering functional staff from scratch.

Colonel Hoover is a native of Ohio. In 1987, he graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. In 2009, he graduated from Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. He has served in a variety of base-level and command staff assignments in Europe, the Middle East and the United States. He served as the first permanent-party Civil Engineer Squadron commander, Balad Air Base, Iraq where he commanded 841 AEF rotational engineers and force protection escorts. He later commanded 540 engineers at the 60th Civil Engineer Squadron, Travis AFB, Calif. While there, he was responsible for planning and maintaining 7,580 acres and 10 million square feet of facilities through a $250 million design and construction program. Additionally, he was responsible for fire protection, aircraft crash and rescue, explosive ordnance disposal and disaster preparedness services.
