The 2019 Defenders of Liberty Air and Space Show officially kicked-off May 18, 2019 following a two-year hiatus since it was transitioned to a biennial event.

The highly anticipated two-day free event drew more than 100,000 attendees from across the region. This year’s headlining act included the Royal Canadian air force’s Snowbirds aerobatic flying demonstration team. Other acts included the U.S. Army’s Black Dagger’s Special Operations Command Parachute demonstration team, the Aeroshell aerobatic team, and record breaking aerobatic champion Rob Holland.

Maj. Benjamin Kempen, Defenders of Liberty Air and Space Show director, said this event showcases military capabilities, while supporting partnerships within the community.

“The Defenders of Liberty Air and Space Show will allow us to show our appreciation to the community for their support,” Kempen said.

He added that the public had “the opportunity to see the capabilities and excellence of our service members.”

The next air show is slated for 2021. To view more photos and video from the air show go to https://www.dvidshub.net/unit/2DBWPA.
