Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Air Force members and their families when they face an unforeseen financial emergency. Assistance is usually provided in the form of an interest free loan with repayment by allotment set according to budget surplus. Contact the Air Force Aid Officer at the Airman and Family Readiness Center for instructions on how to obtain assistance. You may begin your request for assistance by completing the
AFAS application.
Active duty personnel, family members, retirees, as well as guard and reserve on active duty orders for more than 30 days are served by this society.
